The property where Che Nosara is located, started years ago as a small hideaway for a family and their guests to immerse themselves in the laid-back rhythm of Costa Rican life. After changing owners several times, this gem came to the attention of a retired software engineer and an attorney from San Francisco in 2019.
EJ and Leeh had begun their search for a home in Nosara, intending to create a private personal escape for themselves. During one of EJ’s visits he discovered this quaint property tucked away in a quiet corner, near a picturesque beach, that was nothing like the private personal escape they were looking for. After a swift purchase, what they thought was going to be a minor revamp, quickly became the focus of their life and the property underwent a complete renovation lasting almost two years. And along the way their lives changed completely!
With an elaborate aesthetic, consisting of two separate buildings and a Costa Rican traditional rancho, the furnishings and amenities were thoughtfully designed by the new owners as an authentic tropical escape and a genuine hospitality spot.
Today with the hotel and lounge fully operational, EJ and Leeh couldn’t be happier with the magical place that has become Che, a word that means “friend” in EJ’s native Argentina. A word that fits so well with their vision, so that all who enter as guests, leave as friends.
