SURFING
Find world-class surfing in the next beach of Playa Guiones, one of the best in Costa Rica. Consistent and pristine surf conditions make it a great year-round destination for wave riders looking to practice their skills and perfect their moves. Although the swells can get pretty big, the waves at Playa Guiones are accommodating to beginners as well.
As if that’s not enough, venture off the beaten path and surf in the remote beaches of Barrigona and Caramonal to the South or Ostional and Marbella to the North for intermediate to experienced surfers.

Fall in love with Nosara in a delightful horseback tour in a beautiful pristine beach. Saddle up when the sun is getting ready to set for a romantic ride through jungle trails and as the sun is setting you will ride through picturesque Playa Pelada, where waves crest and the sky is kissed by sunset orange and pink. A stunning connection with nature at the dimming of the day.
During and right after the rainy season you will have a chance to take a short hike through jungle trails to a refreshing swim in the waters of beautiful Malanoche waterfall.
Climb up on a ATV or drive through beautiful country roads of Nosara towards higher altitude and cooler temperatures where cafetal Santa Rosa is located in one of the most beautiful mountain ridge in the country. Let the awe-inspiring of the spectacular mountains, ocean views and a pristine shoreline take your breath away. See first hand the conditions in which this very special farm is able to grow 100% organic coffee in a tropical region and the resulting coffee aromas it produces.
Take a serene tour in a Stand Up Paddle board or kayak starting at the Nosara River mouth, that offers amazing views. You will row on Montaña river which runs parallel to the ocean, during a one hour ride you can spot different types of birds and if you are lucky even a crocodile. Along the way the tour guide will provide information about wildlife and Nosara’s biodiversity.
In this tour you get to hike at Nosara’s Biological Reserve where you can see a wide variety of terrestrial and aquatic bird species. The tour guide will provide information about amazing birds and nature along the way. Experienced bird watchers will also learn from local birds and will have the chance to get nice pictures.
Little wonder that the coastline off Nosara has come to be revered as one of the prime sport fishing destinations anywhere in Central America. Mahi-mahi red snapper, tuna, roosterfish, snook, not to mention some record-breaking marlin, sailfish, and other prized billfish, Nosara’s offshore fishing has them all.
Take your time to discover the natural charm of Playa Pelada beach and experience its laid back vibe, just a short walk from Che Nosara. You can choose to fill your day with ocean swims at low tide and beautiful beach sunsets. Explore blow holes at the change of tide between the many coves and the natural pools bustling with micro sea life when the tide is at its lowest. Delicious food and refreshing drinks are available at the two beachfront restaurants by the fishing boats. Head further south and find the short jungle path to the next beach of Playa Guiones, a long stretch of a world-class surf beach where you can reach main shops and restaurants through either the south or north beach entrances.
In a short walking distance from Che Nosara, immerse yourself in jungle trails to the north side of Pelada beach. In this quiet hike you will find panoramic views and spectacular rocky bluffs until you reach the estuary where the Nosara and Montaña rivers meet, bustling with wildlife.

Che Nosara, is fantastic. Lovely rooms and well kept grounds. The pool is beautiful and fantastic. Lots of jungle wildlife around so you really get a taste of Costa Rica living. Close to the beach. EJ and Leah are amazing and helpful, they really thought out all the nice touches for the rooms and for the hotel.
We had an amazing time at Che – best place we’ve been to yet. Our room was generously large and we have great memories relaxing by the pool. Che felt like a home away from home. 100% recommend.
